Google Turns 10!
by admin
Google turns 10 today and I need to figure out what to do with pictures on this blog so I figured what better way to figure it out then by throwing a photo in the blog and seeing what happens. Granted I won’t have time to fix it so if it looks horrible know that it will be fixed soon.
I digressed, so Google turns 10 years old today and as you can see by their home page logo they want a server rack. You know you are a geek when you want a server rack for your birthday, that’s all I have to say.
I remember using Altavista and Webcrawler in the past and although they will always have their presense in my past they are nothing that good claims to be. There have been some article lately on how Google seems to have everything they make in Beta testing forever. It is interesting that most of their apps are in Beta and that seems to bother some as they seem it is a way for them not to have a technical support team. They don’t need the responcibility of supporting their web applications because they are testing them in Beta phases and therefore do not garantee your content will be safe and that the software may crash.
Either way if I think about it I use Google in a variety of ways:
- Google Mail (GMail)
- Google Calandar (GCal)
- Google Search (Used many ways)
- YouTube
- Google Analytics
- Google Maps
- Google Earth
There are a few more ways that I have used Google in the past to promote or just be productive. With that being said after 10 years I think it is one of the most admirable software companies out there considering they have so many free (beta) productivity tools out there and keep breaking the mold when it comes to new and exciting forms of online applications.
On that note this post is complete and I can now watch it ruin my layout before I fix how my images are displayed.
