Major Facelift

by admin

Over the next few months between client projects I plan to re -design this site. The original design was created from scratch, hand coded and WordPress injected into the mold and it taught me a lot about creating themes for WordPress. It was a lot of fun but I am on a less-is-more kick lately and Chris Coyier’s theme WP Typo fits the mold. I made a small change and may make a few more before I switch to my own theme, the minor change is that I added my most recent tweet to the sticky footer by increasing the original height of the footer and compensating that with in the CSS with Chris’s push. Nothing fancy but with a lack of sidebars I wanted to have something more than a bare site. =)

After a few trials and tribulations with HostICan I decided that WordPress 2.8 which I manually installed twice either has some bug that does not work with HostICan or their servers can not handle it. Either way with WordPress 2.8 installed I was unable to edit, create or click on the HTML tab of posts or pages and after writing this entire post and loosing it I admit I was a bit frustrated. Their tech support, while helpful, lacked the knowledge I was looking for but this is neither the time nor the place to discuss that. I want to thank Chris Coyier for making such a great theme and advice you to check out his site @ www.css-tricks.com for great articles on the web and video screencasts for those visual learners.
